This playlist centers around lady vocalists, corralling indie pop and indie rock of the early aughts to today from acts like Metric, Angel Olsen, Cat Power, The Joy Formidable, Rilo Kiley, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Alabama Shakes, and Charly Bliss. There are also edgier cuts on here from punk and more garage rock-oriented acts like THICK, Amyl and the Sniffers, Chastity Belt, Against Me! and more. There are a few legacy punk acts on here as well, such as Sleater-Kinney and early ’80s post-punk band Girls at Our Best.
