Ty Segall and Brian Chippendale Set to Release Collaborative Album ‘Fungus II’ as Wasted Shirt

Wasted Shirt is the next logical mutation in noisy, garage punk-fueled experimentation. Their album “Fungus II” is set to release in February, and the first single, “Double the Dream”, is bound to ferociously explode out of all variety of speakers. The track is rife with blasting snares, off-kilter textures, guttural shouts, and fuzz-drenched guitar tones. An accompanying stop motion video further underscores their absurd and eccentric aesthetic.

Wasted Shirt purportedly began in July of 2018, when noise-rock musician Brian Chippendale (of Lightning Bolt) and Ty Segall (of burgeoning solo and sprawling side project fame) “[collided] at high speed” in Segall’s “air-conditioning free home studio,” according to the release info on their Bandcamp page (courtesy of Henry Rollins).

The end result is nothing short of exiting, adrenaline pumping bizarro-rock. You can check out the full release on February 28th from Famous Class Records.
